Lifelong Learning Programme – Senior Volunteering Project

The end of a great year

Thanks very much to everyone involved in Waterside. We’ve had a good year, and are now looking forward to 2015 and the visit by the Cornish group to Getxo. More news and information follows soon – in the meantime, Merry Christmas everyone, enjoy the holidays!

The group worked in a range of our projects, here seen with the Kingfisher Pre-School 10799_685699891526119_258799905677349940_n 10808_685635421532566_7886057433446004523_n1012919_685635338199241_1137278644503137060_n1606926_686215411474567_2406353829787972080_n 10644434_686850981411010_638746401593196072_n 10671356_685699904859451_9019284285882860819_n 10675741_686215381474570_4850993485191224441_n 10801972_686214878141287_1236470702291180123_n 10806400_686851078077667_4323564353413272172_n

The group reached Cawsand at 11.00 pm! A tough start!

We prepared a full range of materials, programme and activities for them. We provided food and an Information Pack in Spanish with an Agenda

A local Cawsand school with the help of  volunteers and professionals produce an award winning film about the marine environment and plastic pollution in the ocean.

Watch the video here;

“Well done Fourlanesend School !! The kids’ hard work and enthusiasm over many weeks of film making and learning about ocean plastic all paid off tonight when they were announced as the UK winners of the Marlisco film contest.

Some of them will now be going, with their short film ‘Marine Heroes’, to Bremen in May for the EU finals.

Many thanks to everybody involved, everybody who voted for them – and of course Maker with Rame Parish Council for funding the whole project.”
